Edwidge Danticat, author of Brother, I’m Dying; Breath, Eyes, Memory; and several other titles, just won a MacArthur Foundation fellowship, nicknamed the “Genius Award”. This prestigious honor comes with a $500,000 prize and was awarded to 24 winners this year, including painter Rackstraw Downes and writer Deborah Eisenberg.
