Bjorn Lomborg published an op-ed in The New York Times on Friday calling for countries to spend money on low-carbon energy research and development instead of focusing on reductions in emissions that no one will live up to and will have a much smaller effect on temperatures than would the development of low-carbon energy technology. This op-ed is in response to the planned meeting of world leaders in Copenhagen this December where they are expected to agree to more drastic reductions in emissions in line with the Kyoto Protocol of 1997.
