Jennifer Egan Wins the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction
We are delighted to announce that Jennifer Egan's A Visit from the Goon Squad is the winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.
It was just last month that A Visit from the Goon Squad was voted the National Book Critics Circle Fiction award. Now, A Visit from the Goon Squad has been cited by the Pulitzer committee for being ''an inventive investigation of growing up and growing old in the digital age, displaying a big-hearted curiosity about cultural change at warp speed.''
With Egan's latest achievement, she finds herself in good company with many other RHSB Pulitzer Prize-winners for Fiction, including Richard Russo, Jane Smiley, and Elizabeth Strout.
What a remarkable year it has been for Jennifer Egan and we could not be more excited for her to receive this well-deserved honor.
